The Dashboard Properties Window

The Dashboard Properties window provides controls to edit the basic appearance of all Dashlets and the Dashboard Canvas, as well as Export and Refresh settings for the Dashboard.  

To open the Dashboard Properties window, complete the following steps:

1. Open a Dashboard in the Dashboard Designer (in the Repository, right-click a Dashboard and select Open in Designer). 

2. On the Dashboard toolbar, click the Properties icon. The Dashboard Properties window opens:
   
   
   
   
   
   

 

Canvas Settings
Background Color	Open this drop-down menu to select one of 80 different color options for the background of your Dashboard. The Background of your Dashboard is the space between Dashlets, the size of which is determined in the Dashlet Settings section.
Set Custom Size in Pixels	Select this option to render your Dashboard at a specific width and height instead of dynamically resizing based on the browser window. Once this option is selected, you can enter the custom width and height in the fields (in pixels). Note that the method is Width, followed by Height.

 

 

Dashlet Settings
Show Filter Dashlet as Pop-Up Window	Select this option when you want the filter Dashlet to appear as a pop-up window instead of a Dashlet pinned into the Dashboard.
Show Borders	Select or de-select this option to show or hide the thin lines bordering each Dashlet.
Outer Margin in Pixels	Enter the desired width, in pixels, of the margins between Dashlets. The margins will be the color chosen in the Background Color option of the Canvas Settings section.
Inner Padding in Pixels	Enter the desired width, in pixels, of the padding inside each Dashlet.
Title Bar Text Color	Open this drop-down menu to select one of 80 different color options for the Title Bar Text of each Dashlet.
Title Bar Background Color	Open this drop-down menu to select one of 80 different color options for the background of the Title Bar of each Dashlet.

 

 

Toolbar Settings
Show Export Button	Select this option to show the Export icon in the Dashboard toolbar. When a user runs this Dashboard, they will see this icon in the toolbar and be able to export the entire Dashboard. If this option is deselected, users will not be able to see the icon or export the Dashboard.

 

 

Refresh Settings
Auto-Refresh Dashboard Contents	Select this option to enable the automatic refresh of your Dashboard content. If selected, this will allow your Dashlets to automatically refresh at the specified interval in the Refresh Interval field.
