The Time Tracker plugin enhances the data gathered by the Time Spent learning plugin by adding additional logs to the Time Spent Learning record. The additional track the continuedpresence of the Learner through the use of an alert window. Set to custom alert intervals, the alert window will pop up and require the Learner to click through to confirm their presence. Failure to click through the window will pause the time tracking, enabling the log data to be an entirely truthful reflection of time spent learning.

To edit settings and enable the Time Tracker alert window, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Administration block, navigate to Site Administration > Plugins > Local Plugins > Lambda Time Tracker. The Lambda Time Tracker screen appears:
  2. To enable the Time Tracker features, select Enable Lambda Time Tracker. When selected, this enables the Time Tracker plugin to collect and add information to the Time Spent logs.
  3. The value entered in the Lambda Time Interval box determines the amount of minutes elapsed before the Time Tracker checks for Learner presence and activity. For example, to collect data every five minutes, enter "5" in the box (without quotation marks).
  4. The value entered in the Lambda Time Tracker Interrupt box determines the amount of minutes elapsed before the Time Tracker alert window appears, pausing the tracker and requiring the Learner to verify their presence. For example, to have the window appear every fifteen minutes, enter "15" in the box (without quotation marks).
  5. To enable the Time Tracker alert window, select Yes from the Use Lambda Time Tracker Interrupt list.

If the Time Tracker is enabled but the Interrupt alert window is not, additional data is still sent to the Time Spent logs based on the interval established in the Lambda Time Tracker Interval box.
