The Course Dedication Data Source is a curated selection of LMS data that enables you to create Reports on the amount of time users have spent in courses. Relevant items in this Data Source include the specific Course Day, Daily Dedication, Total Dedication, and Course Month for users in courses.
The Course Dedication Data Source is located in the Public folder in the Zoola™ Repository. To locate the Data Source in either the Repository or the Data Chooser (when selecting a Data Source to create an Ad Hoc View), navigate to Public > Moodle/Totara > Data Sources.
This Data Source contains LMS data organized to report on the dedication information of your courses. Dedication information consists of records of the amount of time spent by a user in a specific course, as well as the parameters (by date) of the dedication periods. The available User and Course information included in this Data Source can be used to structure these records by information from the learner and course profile information. Using fields and measures from the four sets included in this Data Source, you can easily build out Reports and Views to capture and analyze dedication data and trends throughout your course offerings.
The links along the right-hand side of this article will open the Time Spent Learning Table View and the Time Spent Learning Chart View, respectively. If you are logged in to Zoola™, these views will open in the Ad Hoc Editor. The left-hand View panel will display the contents of the Course Dedication Data Source, organized into sets of items (as both fields and measures).
All included sets are comprised of selections from the tables listed in the Moodle/Totara table, located at the end of the right-hand column.
Specifically, the Course Dedication Data Source is comprised of the following sets:
Course: Items (fields and measures) in the Course set provide naming and categorization data for your LMS courses.
User: Items in the User set provide user identification information, such as user ID's, names, locations, and other LMS profile-related data.
Course Dedication: Items in the Course Dedication set provide the user dedication ID, total course dedication amounts, and daily dedication information.
12 Months Dedication: Items in the 12 Months Dedication set provide monthly data on user and course dedication information.
